Excellent chapter! Things are simply getting even more interesting. I feel extremely sorry for Itachi. He was truly a powerful and wonderful shinobi. Eventually we’ll learn more as to why Madara wishes to keep Sasuke alive. May be Madara sees a bit of himself in Sasuke. On quite a few occasions Sasuke used his sharingan to a degree that was very surprising and this has been noted by Kakashi, the nine-tails, and Madara himself. Especially the part with the nine-tails where the beast compares Sasuke to Madara. Sasuke also had blasted its chakra back into the cage within Naruto. And then again Sasuke broke the Tsukuyomi which was deemed impossible.
Now we know that Danzo knew the truth about Itachi. It makes me wonder why he went to great lengths to have Sasuke assassinated. After all he could have eliminated Sasuke when Sasuke was a genin. Hmmm…

I was abit disapointed…
I thought Kishimoto will tell us something about Itachi instand we hear about Madara in his youth
well hope the next chapter will be a better one

We will hear more next chapter about itachi. I think the whole clan was going to bring some impending doom on the ninja world, and the only to stop it wass to eliminate the clan, but he spared his bro.

How about this theory guys. Itachi was ordered to kill his clan because Madara was a threat to konoha, and he Could forcefully use his sharigan to take the sharigans of any uchiha(like he did with his brother), except for itachi because he equaled him in power. He did not Kill sasuke because he wanted to give sasuke his sharingan to give him the perfect mangekou sharingan in order for sasuke to defeat madara. this didn;t work beacuse sasuke did not aquire his mangekou, so he just transfers his into saskue. This is why danzou ordered to kill sasuke. not becasue of orichimaru, but because he didn’t want sasuke(and his sharigan) to fall into the hands of madara.

Well I don’t think Madara can utilize someone else’s sharingan. Doesn’t Itachi mention this to Sasuke while explaining the uniqueness of the mangekyou sharingan? He said the power can only be transferred between siblings. Itachi also mentions that those Uchiha who did manage acquire the mangekyou sharingan had experimented in many ways but their efforts proved to be futile and hence the reason behind several sacrifices within the Uchiha clan.
I don’t think Madara wants to do anything with someone else’s Sharingan since he has acquired a perfect mangkeyou sharingan. There seems to be something far more sinister and involved.
And I don’t think transplanting the mangekyou into someone totally different will work unlike the regular sharingan.
I think the fourth Hokage had a more involved role too. I have a feeling that there is more to Naruto’s mother Kushina Uzumaki than what has been mentioned. Where did she disappear off two when the nine-tails was sealed? After all Naruto was just born when the beast was sealed. I think Itachi and konoha elders might have shielded her for unknown reasons.

Nice points sasuke. There is some reason why itachi was ordered to kill his entire clan, and It prob. has something to do wit madara. And danzou wanted to finish the job by assasinating sasuke. I also agree with the fourth hokage part. It was assumed that his mom died, but there is a reason why the 4th sealed the nine tails into naruto, other than the fourth protecting his son.

On the contrary Logan, this chapter was worth the wait. So, after reading this chapter, I now have made a few theories that can be put in affect in the future. Now, here’s the question that I’m establishing, who was the evil one here? The first Hokage or Madara? Think about it, could The first have decided to eliminate Madara so that Madara could not surpass him in power? Or, was Madara really power hungry from the start? Maybe that entire fight at the valley of the end meant something between those two, and, perhaps, 80 years later, which goes on to my next theory, Sasuke will take Madara’s place and try to destroy the Leaf village, but Naruto, on the leaf village’s side, completely oblivious of the truth, will try to stop him. Then again, this is Madara’s point of view here, so he could be manipulating the facts to get Sasuke to believe him. It was wrong of the leaf village to keep this away from Sasuke. They ordered his older brother to kill his clan, his family. Now that’s just messed up.

Perhaps, but if you look at point of view here, the first had probably wanted the entire Uchiha clan wiped out, so that Madara could no longer gain power at a ridiculous level. Madara said it himself, they were in a era of when power was everything. He sought every resource he could possibly have, including his brother and other clan memembers. The First had probably classified Madara as a threat so eliminating him for the sake of a peaceful end to the war seemed like a smart idea. In a sense, Madara felt betrayed, so the two had probably clashed in the Valley of the End. However, after that battle, Madara had left, never to be seen again, that is, until the Kyuubi attack on Konoha. Not to say that he was actually present during the attack, but that probably happened because it was an act of revenge for Madara. It’s logical, but still, this is Madara’s point of view. The First’s could have been a bit different, but he’s dead, so we’ll never here from him.

I agree with Chris, is very possible that danzou wanted to kill sasuke by both reasons to keep sasukes eyes away from oro and madara. Sasuke is like a nuclear head, any criminal would be happy to get it, specially oro and madara.
I think Madara is trying to manipulate Sasuke, since we know Sarutobi’s ideals its hard to accept than saru would be agreed to give itachi such a mission, plus don’t 4get Itachi said Madara helped him that night, so how the hell madara would help itachi to achieve a mission given by Konoha’s highest command?, anyway if this is true I’m sure it was in order to run madara’s sources out, or at least that will be madara’s point to make sasuke go in anger against the leaf.
By now we have no other choice but wait until the story go on.

I don’t think Naruto’s soons have kyubigan or something as doujutsu, since bloodlimits are determined by use of chakra element nature as Kakashi and Yamato have already explained.

Jiraiya’s pupil, I think 2 ways this could go. 1: Naruto gets with sakura. Naruto had the school boy crush, and sakura was in love with the coolest boy in class, and couldn’t stand Naruto who was class clown. as they grow up, sakura learns that naruto is deeper than she thought, cool boy has problems, They grow closer, and get married as adults. 2:Naruto gets with hinata. this will only happen,I think, if sakura gets with sasuke. Sasuke redeems himself, goes back to the leaf, Sakura breaks naruto’s heart, but they remain friends as he knows that she always cared for sasuke. Naruto finally notices hinata, and they get together, and have an awesome kid with incredible chakra and the byakagan. I think the 1st is more likely to happen, esp since they are drawing comparisons with tsunade and jiraiya with jiraiya always pinning after tsunde since they were kids

But I really wonder, how the uchiha clan got the sharingan… Maybe Naruto could learn it as well xP. I know that this won’t happen but it would be pretty cool.^^ If I were Naruto I would have given up on Sasuke. I really don’t know why he care so much about him, since he tried to kill him. Naruto could kill Sasuke and take his eyes.

*sigh* I’m back. Now, I have a question for all of you. Okay, so everyone remembers that Tsunade is the grandaughter of the first right? But, reading this chapter, we have discovered that the first is from the clan of senjutsu, which uses wood style techniques. So, by blood, does Tsunade belong in the same clan?

Well that’s a very hard question to answer but think of this, his brother didn’t have senjutsu so by default that kind of means that Tsunade is unable to use senjutsu too but Nidaime Hokage was her granduncle so that question is unable to be answered. But don’t worry this question will eventually be answered in future manga.

I’m thinking the whole clan couldn’t use wood techniques, just like all from the uchiha clan dont obtain the sharingan, and those that do obtain it in varing degrees. Maybe the 1st was the only one to obtain wood style, and if not maybe he mastered it to a degree that no one else in the clan had. I would assume that tsunade is part of the clan. I’m sure more light will be revealed on this in the future

Great answer, but here’s where this question poses a problem. Surely bloodlines are spread by, of course, blood. Maybe, Nidaime wasn’t actually the first’s “blood related brother” Come to think of it, maybe Tsunade isn’t a blood relative either. Perhaps, this could have been true, if Tsunade was never born by the first’s biological daughter. Okay, let’s use the Uchiha clan for an example. Mostly everyone in that clan had the traits of black or grey black hair and pale skin. We could tell between them that they have a certain trait. Now compare The First’s and Second’s looks. One has black hair and tan skin while the other had white hair and pale skin, and with Tsunade, pale skin and light blonde hair. It makes no sense, so their has to be a connection.

Yeah ,the whole “clan” thing is a little ambiguious to me, Im sure everyone in the a clan has some of the clans blood, but unless they are incestuous, they have kids with people eoutside the clan. im sure more will be explained later, at least I hope so

One word, Genjutsu. The sharingan is active the whole time Tobi is explaining the story to Sasuke. Tobi is the leader of Akatsuki. Tobi is not Madara Uchia, Madara is dead. Tobi wants power. Tobi needs a second eye to create the perfect Mangekyo Sharingan again. Which would explain his high level of degree when distinguishing Amaratsu. It will be interesting to see how Sasuke plays Tobi like he did to his brother.

skeith, We must to accept that chris has got a point, plus remember that it’s been already declared than no one else but Hashirama, could use wood element, and Tenzou (yamato) is able to use it beacuse oro implanted Hashirama’s cells into him. so that’s all for wood element.
About tsunade, well, remember than sons aren’t ment to seem their parents, just like naruto, he looks like Minato but he fights as Kushina, and it could have been viceverse.
But i think the main question is why Madara wants to take revenge on the leaf?
I mean he said power was everything but he was never after leadership, that was a plus due to his desire for fighting. There’s something that powerful warriors can’t forgive in battle, and that is to be cheated, I think that would be one of the few reasons to make madara go in anger against the leaf.

I don’t think Madara wanted revenge on the leaf village. It’s just why is he telling Sasuke about Itachi and his intentions.
But it was probably because he’s Itachi’s brother and he need’s to know every detail of Itachi. Pretty much it was Konoha’s fault of Itachi’s. Itachi was giving a mission to kill his clan, he did it, Sasuke wanted revenge, 2 1/2 years later Sasuke killed him.
But still I don’t think Madara wanted revenge on Konoha. But still I would guess that Madara would want to destroy Konoha, I just don’t think it’s been revealed yet. That’s all.

Pity about the golden week, I just wanted to add my 2 cents about this whole blood line thing and how tsunade-sama does not show any form of wood techniques. This could be due to the fact that Senju had just mastered the tree element-jistu just like Tsunade masters the healing or strength jistu, it might not be blood line at all but just a mastered technique or way of combat. the eye (Rin’negan sharingan and byakugan) blood line is exceptional as this is known to be passed down or
singular to clans and cant be taught through training, whereas tree-element or healing can be taught to outsiders of the clan.

look everybody i’ll clear some things up for you. first it’s so totally clear that madara wants revenge on konoha, he sent the nine tailed fox to destroy the village at the begining of the series right. so knowing what we know now, about the only ones to be able to control the fox are the Senju clan and Uchiha clan, it’s obvious to the leaders of the village that the person who sicked to fox on the village has to be an Uchiha. and with madara hiding in the shadows of akatsuki and being thought to be dead it has to be an Uchiha in the village. it makes since to eliminate anyone who can control the fox right. and who better to do it than an uchiha whom had already declared his growing hatred of his clan. that being said madara is tryin to turn sasuke on the village and insure his survival by not implicating himself in any of it.

Like who was the founder of Hyuuga Clan, or who excatly is this guy who founded the rinnengan clan. AND WHAT’S THE NAME OF THE RINNENGAN CLAN?
