What a funny chapter. Kiba tries to attack and Tobi just side-stepped him. Oh, wow what an embarrasing time for Kiba. Heh, Naruto sure does swear a lot in this chapter, and the aloe vera joke, HA! Oh, Hustla, are you saying that showing Kakashi’s eye and Tobi’s eye provides some type of connection? Well, here are two things that can prove why this chapter ended the way it did. One reason could be that Kakashi just noticed Tobi’s sharingan with his eye, so the scene just zoomed in because he was surprised. The second thing, could be that Tobi is actually Obito, The age old arguement of the Naruto fan world. Showing two former best friends at the end is in fact a type of clue. Although, we won’t be able to tell if it’s Madara or Obito until he uses his Mangekyou sharingan. Then we know it’s Madara.

hell, Pain tols setsu Jiraiya apeared “right after madara ordered him to capture jinchuriki of the nine tails” so I tought tobi was indeed madara but as we can see, kishimoto mentions tobi as a diferent character so… WTF is happening?
I think tobi and madara are the same person since the only way tobi could have scaped to Deidara’s blast was the same time-space jutsu pissing off the good guys in this chapter.
At least that somehow madara resurrected obito.

This is going to be a LONG COMMENT, so if you’re willing to read, go right ahead. Yeah. I thought that to, but it could be that Tobi is Obito, but with split personalites. Back in the chapter of when we first saw Tobi’s sharingan, he said he wanted to use the power of Madara Uchiha. Maybe that power is the Mangekyou Sharingan, but like I said, we won’t know who he is until he uses that “power.” See, because of the split personality, Tobi may seem goofy and playful like a child, but later, when’s he’s around certain people, he acts like a totally different person. The reason I think that he’s Obito is because at the time of his death, there were two Akatsuki members present at that time, Orochimaru and Sasori. Maybe, they could have took his corpse, and brought him back to life, with the ability of Orochimaru’s immotality jutsu. Another factor is his name. Remember that Dragon Ball Z had inspired Mashashi Kishimoto to make Naruto, which is why some elements in the series are closely related. Well, if some people watched the show, When they were all in the Martial Arts tornament, a character named Uub had joined the roster. That’s “Buu” spelled backwards, since this was when Majin Buu was defeated a few episodes ago. With Tobi’s name, look at Obito. If you look closely, these two names have sort of a connection, don’t you think?
Then there’s that mask and hairstyle. Obito’s favorite color was orange, which is why he wore orange googles as a kid. The mask is also orange, covering everything but the left eye. If this were Madara, why would he cover one of his eyes when there was no reason to do so? In obito’s case, his entire right side was crushed, but his sharingan was still there. Plus, Obito had short, spikey hair, just like Tobi’s. So all of these factors could lead to the fact that Tobi is Obito, but these are just theoies. They could be right or wrong, so don’t rely on this info too much anyone.

I told the same theory to my little sis along long time ago but once more Pain said “right after madara ordered me to capture the nine tails.. he appeared out of nowhere”, So Maybe Madara and tobi are both alive and madara has teched tobi every jutsu he posseses or at least most of them. to check this info see manga chap 383 page 14.
p.s. when I told about the obito theory I didn’t noticed the facts about toriyama and the dbz series.

Uchiha Madara could be living inside obito in the same way as naruto and his kyuubi.It could also be that Madara comes out when ever he wants.

Good assumption Hustla. Maybe, Madara had used his permenant Mangekyou on Obito, controlling him to do his biding, just like when he controlled the Kyuubi to destroy Konoha. (sigh) Man this is such a mystery, but it’s worth following the clues to solve it. Okay, so let’s start over.
-Tobi has a fully matured sharingan.
-He is an uchiha
-The mask covers everything but his one eye.
-His arms and hands are covered in black cloth.
-Has a unusual personality
-Short, black, spikey hair.
-The ability to morph his body and appear out of nowhere.(Maybe teleportation.)
Now this could go either way. Some of his traits are obito’s while some of his other traits are Madara’s. Hmmm, Damn, who could it be??????

I want you all remamber what happend in the last chapter when sasuke fall befor that he was smiling . why did he smile? is ther somthing fany to laphe about? I dont think so . I think itachi had taken him whith asecret jutsu or somthing . Think about it . Itachi never had astory . I think itachi had arelly intresting story . and I think he whant reveng too. he knew that sasuke is weak and cant do it with himself . and I think too that itachi didnt kill his clan and he know who did it was strong so ha needed to be strong to take reveng . my story is long but it is based on that . so go wild and think about it.

I actually feel that this anime is a lot like Hunter x Hunter too… but anyway. There is a lot of reasons to point the character Tobi to Obito… One reason is one that no one has mentioned yet… In the beginning of the anime, Naruto Shippuuden… Why did it go to the 21/2 year time skip immediately instead of showing the Kakashi Gaiden? Why leave it out? I thought they were gonna use the Kakashi Gaiden as a flashback when Kakashi first introduces his MS eye to Itachi or even Deidara, but they didn’t… The Kakashi Gaiden WILL eventually be used in the anime as a flashback, but perhaps it’ll be used when Kakashi discovers Tobi is Obito.. Itachi said that the only way to obtain the M. Sharingan is to kill your best friend… Kakashi has the grief and feeling that he’s responsible for Obito’s death. He visited Obito’s memorial site ever since the beginning of the anime… I feel that Madara does live inside Obito… I feel that Madara has lived over 100 years by using the 3rd type of Sharingan (The permanant one) to enter into Uchihas.
Another theory I have about why Tobi didn’t get hit by those attacks is because a huge amount of his body isn’t even real… Most of his body was destroyed so he has some ability where no one can touche any part of his body that was crushed… just a theory.
Just remember, the Kakashi Gaiden will appear in the Anime soon… Madara and Yamato will fight… Tobi and Kakashi will fight… Sasuke will die to Tobi… Naruto will kill Pein… Sakura will make love to Sai, and Naruto will break the seal to the 9 tails because that frog/key thing that Jiraiya regurgitated is eventually gonna find Naruto. Oh yea, and the fifth will die too somehow! These are all my theories that you can shoot down if you wish. I think the fifth will be killed by Kabuto/Orochimaru.

Killua, that s very interesting about the third type of sharingan. being able to enter into uchihas As a way of living forever. Thats why Madara has been around for so long, and that is why sasuke was smilling at the end of the fight. Itachi enter into him at the end of the fight. Tobi said the sasuke/itachi fight ended as he predicted. I doubt he predicted tha sasuke would win. he knows itachi is inside of saskue, just as he is inside of obito. its kind of like orochi’s body transfer jutsu.

The best clan is the uchiha clan. They have a very interesting story and the sharingan power simply adds to their mystique. Of all the uchihas I like Sasuke. But even though Sasuke has gotten a lot stronger he was still no match for Itachi’s true power. Itachi collapsed due to other reasons which haven’t yet been revealed (Zetsu even comments that itachi might have sustained serious injuries prior to his fight with sasuke or may be itachi collapsed because he was completely drained). If Itachi wanted he could’ve killed Sasuke with Amaterasu. Even Sasuke with his incredible speed could not escape Amaterasu. The only reason he was still breathing was because Itachi stopped the Amaterasu so he wouldn’t kill sasuke yet as he needed his eyes.
It’s also obvious that Jiraiya was no match for Itachi. When Jiraiya, naruto, kisame, itachi, and sasuke are all present in the hallway in part I, Itachi could’ve easily hit Jiraiya with TsuKoyomi or Amaterasu and taken away naruto. May
be he refrained from using Amaterasu because he feared he might kill naruto in the process and that might anger madara. Also itachi might
have decided to focus on sasuke since itachi did notice that sasuke’s sharingan wasn’t yet fully matured and that sasuke was still too weak.
After all itachi became chief of Anbu when he was 13 and sasuke was about the same age when he tried to attack itachi in the hallway. itachi realized that in order to accelerate sasuke’s growth he’d have to give him another intense beating both physically and mentally. This also explains why itachi prefers not to engage because he was gradually loosing his eyesight and needed sasuke to grow fast. The more he used his power, the quicker he would be getting to total blindness.
Now on the mystery that is Tobi/Madara. First Obito cannot be Tobi. That simply doesn’t make any sense since itachi clearly states who madara is. However there are many questions about Madara’s actions when Madara returned to Konoha in secret.
Why did Madara train Itachi in the first place?
Why did Madara want to destroy the entire clan?
Why does Madara want to make Sasuke his new protege/apprentice?
Did Itachi really hate all his clan members or was it Madara’s misguiding? itachi was pretty angry though and he did mention that he had lost all hope for the clan. But he also said
that he wanted to get “freed from this wretched clan’s destiny”.
It is possible that itachi did not want madara to get his hands on naruto. This will lead to madara returning to full power (this is hinted at the end of chapter 364). There obviously has
been a falling out between itachi and his master madara. During his conversation with sasuke itachi does say that madara is no longer worthy
of being called the greatest uchiha and the one who could surpass “the invincible madara” was him. I think itachi contemplated about gaining
complete control over the nine-tails once he’d a permanent mangekyou sharingan because if he wanted he could have killed naruto since he did have several opportunities. Also it’s not yet revealed what itachi said to naruto in chapter 366 (i think he simply said naruto to escape while he could)
I hope to see more on Madara-Itachi relationship. This kind of reminds me of star wars where the Sith lord Sidious wanted Luke Skywalker to
take the place of his father Anakin Skywalker. What really transpired between Madara and Itachi that made them fall out? Madara does mention
that he looks forward to seeing Sasuke develop (start chapter 371). Why does Madara even need a protege?
And I think the new technique that was born when madara had the powers of both the mangekyou sharingans combined is this super duper space-time ninjutsu which kakashi notes to be far more advanced than the fourths.

It appears as though Sasuke_Rulz has a very interesting logic. All of your points are very accurate and strong. It seems you know about the Itachi/Madara relationship quite well. Judging by your comments, your reading the manga skillfully. However, Itachi is a very intelligent person. He wouldn’t have defeated Jiraiya, because he didn’t want to. He only focused on the mission at hand. Fighting Jiraiya would not only jeapordize the mission, but cause an even greater risk of injury to both of them and the giving away of their location, which is why Itachi wanted to avoid all matters of conflict. To answer your previous questions, Madara had seen Itachi’s progress as he grew. He was impressed. After all, Itachi had grauduated from the Acadamey at age 7 and obtained his sharingan at age 8, and, like you said, became captain of the ANBU at 13. This is probably why Madara wanted to train Itachi in the first place. This is why Itachi didn’t show up at meetings or missions when his father had ordered him to attend them. Although, Madara’s reason to kill the entire clan is still unknown, seeming that Itachi probably knew what the reason was, but, he’s dead, so it’s still a mystery. Afterwards, Madara had also had a back up plan, which was Sasuke. Maybe, that’s why Zetsu was watching the fight between Naruto and Sasuke at the valley of the end, to update Madara on Sasuke’s strength. This space-time ninjutsu ability…It might be the main power of the Mangekyou sharingan that he pocesses. It’s a possibility.

Not sure if anybody noticed, but Kakashi has a mangekyou sharingan and he didn’t have to kill his best friend to obtain it. This little fact leads me to believe that an Uchiha with enough skill and determination could master the technique far easier, no matter how awesome Kakashi is. I think that Obito is indeed Tobi, and he simply lied to Itachi in order to manipulate him. I don’t think it’s above the bad guys to be liars in this series; that goes from lying to the good guys, to lying to the other bad guys as well- (Tobi claiming to be Madara would fit there).

obito is tobi is madara who is in obito’s body. that is the secret to his immortality. taking the bodies of his kin. that is how he took his brother eyes, then obito’s, and that is how itachi took saskue’s eyes. He’s not dead, just in sasuke’s body, like orochi’s jutsu. that is why itachi waited to take his brother’s eyes. he waited until orochi left it, then he could take it 4 himself

the only fact that you say Itachi was stonger than Jiraiya psses me off, you say Itachi didn’t hit Jiraiya with amaterasu or tsukuyomi in order to not wound sasuke but if read the manga setsu said Itachi stoped amaterasu to protect sasuke’s eyes, so we can see than the fact that amaterasu is a freak of weapon (i mean so powerful) doesn’t mean it can be used accurately, so Itachi is stoinger tha Jiraiya my ass, at the time Itachi faced Jiraiya along with kisame, both itachi and Kisame didn’t have an idea about Jiraiyas true power (I have already talked about the sannin mode but seems no one pay atention to my comments) and i have nothing else to say about this point cause someone else have already said “itachi is stronger than Jiraiya and I have already explained why it isn’t so.
I really ment that madara and obito where both alive in their won bodies each one, but if read the manga again when setsu says “uchiha itachi is dead” tobi says “whoa i didn’t see that coming” at this moment we see the usual tobi but then we see personality change and we read a more paceful phrase “not Just as i predicted…”
It reinforces the theory about madara and tobi (obito) sharing the same body.

Okay, so we’ve all come to an agreement, Tobi is Obito, but Madara lives inside him. It’s makes sense. Maybe Madara had used his Mangekyou sharingan on Obito to control his body, sort of like Sasori when he commands his puppets. Obito is a pawn, under the incredible power of Madara Uchiha. To futher explain Itachi’s comment about Madara being the weak shell he is today, because Madara is not immortal in view, he needed a new and fresh body to help him continue his mysterious goal. In a way, it sounds like Orochimaru’s body switch jutsu. My Tobi is such a mysterious character, maybe even more mysterious than Kabuto, but like I said, if Tobi has a Mangekyou sharingan, Then we know, point blank, that Madara is Tobi only.

And for the theory about Itachi taking Sasuke’s body. Guys, I won’t say it’s ridiculious since of course, it’s my opinion, but Itachi is dead. He did not take Sasuke’s body before his body collapsed. It seems as if Sasuke’s smile had stired up some suspicious antics about that. Well, the only REAL reason why Sasuke smiled is because Itachi is finally dead. His life long goal is finally complete. Like I’ve posted before, wouldn’t you be happy if the murderer of your entire family lies before you, and after so long, you actually feel like you’ve got your revenge? Sasuke’s just happy because it’s all over people. That’s all.

itachi wispeered something to sasuke be4 he touched his head, and collapsed. what was it. I think it is related to the smile sasuke gave at the end. take everything into account. for itachi to die like that is anticlimatic. he is a major villian, and he will be taken out by a major protagonist, not die when he is in the grasp of victory, and pass out.

he beat sasuke, then suddenly dies. I dont think so. that is a cheap wy to kill a major villain off. Sasori went out better than that, and he is not as important to the story as itachi. Kishimoto wouldn’t do that. He’s to good of a storyteller to let a major character in the series die with his motiations undeveloped like that.

Chris, Itachi said “forgive me Sasuke” before he passed out and died. The reason why he said that was because he used to always do that to him when they were little. It was like a bond, even though they hated each other to the bone. Like many other people that have said it, Itachi had died like a true shinobi. Even though he held back, Itachi was already injured before the battle, which could have caused the inevitablity of the battle. Ha ha! big word.
So Itachi wasn’t fighting at full power, plus he had to fight without using his full potential, so he would still take Sasuke’s eyes without damaging them.

well put, aaiyamae, but i dont buy it. orochi died like a true shinobi. sasori, even deidara, but to pass out right before victory. i dont think so. Mark my words. this isn’t the last you have seen from itachi. That would be like saskue killing naruto while he was knocked out after sasuke defeated him. Logic says that sasuke would kill him, but for storytelling purposes, and in depth character developement, (and naruto being the main character), he let him live because there is more story to tell. same with itachi

Lol. If you think about the Madara/Obito/Tobi-kun theory, Its sorta like the first Harry potter book. Voldemort/Madara are both weak shells of what they originally were, and Tobi/Quirrel both were in weak states and wanted power,allowing Madara/Voldemort to live inside them,in exchange for power and protection! to Jiraiya’s pupil: If the main character can’t die, that is lame. The major characters can die, just not in crappy ways. For examaple, if sasuke died trying to defeat itachi, or beating itachi, that is a good way to die for a major character. If he is killed falling of the toliet, that is ridiculous. Like Jiraiya died fighting Pein(I still think the fifth hokage will save him), but if he is dead for good, that is a legit way for a major character to go out.

Even though the power to take another Uchiha’s body sounds a bit far-fetched, if I were to agree, only Madara with his final form of the Mangekyou Sharingan could do that, not Itachi. Perhaps that is also another power granted by the posessor of the final Mangekyou Sharingan. My theory about Obito however, has a few setbacks. If Tobi were indeed Obito as a body, why didn’t he say anything when he saw Kakashi? Of course, there are the factors of memory loss or the overpowering genjutsu influence Madara has on him, but still………Even though that was a long time ago, he should still remember his best friend. I’m just saying, why is the Obito side of Tobi always happy and goofy when he hasn’t reacted into seeing Kakashi?

what is the final form of the mangekyou sharingan? I assumed it was just like itachi’s. until he took his brothers. Also, I would love to know why kakashi’s is different fron itachi’s. different ways of obtaining them? or are they different with each user based on how you train it? we have only seen 2 in action so far. Can’t wait to see Madara’s/tobi’s. or maybe tobi has been using his to warp time and space to evade attacks. Can’t wait for the next chapter

my left eye comes from Madara from past events not shown yet in the manga. it was given to me as a transplant when I lost my eye in combat as a junin.
